Coast Guard Personnel
My son was telling me at lunch how my Granddaughter and her Husband are getting along during the Government shut down .
She's newly married to a newly mint member of the Coast Guard , His first year now and have a 4 month old baby .
She hasn't reached out for help to anyone , But they are eating away at their savings that she has been diligently putting away , There landlord won't take payment till the shutdown ends and they get their back pay . The local American Legion and VFW along with other organizations a providing meal's and food pantry's to them . Her husband is assigned to a Boat Crew
Station and Chief has them working 72 hours on then 6 days off so they can find and work a part time job ,The Chief has found all of lower enlisted work .This as I understand happening all over within the USCG .
So if your near a Coast Guard Station and in need of some part time help please reach out and let them know , You'll get someone that is drug free and trust worthy and motivated . To those that can please reach out to the American Legion ,VFW, food pantry and see what you can do help.
Remember these are the Men and Women that go out when everyone else is running for shelter to Save Your Butt no matter what time of day or night , No matter what the weather is or time of year .

If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

Sometimes even our heroes need us to step up and have their backs. Now is that time.
My check just went to American Legion collecting for my nearest CG Station Keokuk IA. I can assure you that the Mississippi is as wet and cold and the nights as dark as any place they serve.

I will speak to the commander at my VFW Post. I to have been unable to work because of the shutdown. I'm older and in better shape than a lot of young folks.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
