Chumming
Was just going to ask if chumming is legal at the pier, not that it would help much with the sharks. I Googled it and found it is illegal in Alabama. I did however notice there was nothing saying that you can't in the official Gulf Shores State Park Pier rules.

I don't believe there is anything in the pier rules stating you can't....but really its not necessary. The pier is basically its own chum bag. All the people throwing bait over and also at the cleaning tables. Plus the pier attracts multitudes of bait fish and thats why fishing is so good around the pier... you'd probably get frowned upon if you chummed just because all that would do would really attract sharks. (not trying to sound bossy or rude at all haha).

I didn't take your comments as being bossy nor rude stephan, no worries. I never intended to chum, just asked out of curiosity.

Chumming pretty much happens at the cleaning tables with all the carcasses going in the water.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
