Charters
I'm coming down go Gulf Shores first part of July. Would love to take my 11 yr boy fishing. we have never saltwater fished before. Can anybody recommend a good reasonable charter for a short 4-6 hr fishing trip? Or should I just fish from the pier? thanks for your help.

Another possibility is on a walk on charter. For $75-90 per person, you can experience deep sea fishing. The catches may not be the greatest, but the time spent will be priceless, and a camera is a must. I have used Emerald Spirit on two occasions to introduce young members of our family to the ocean, and even though I prefer private charters, hard to justify spending $800-1400 for one day. Whatever way you go, Bring A Camera! And for surf or pier fishing, Nimakdm is right on. Never have met Mr. Pier#, but it is on my bucket list. Best of luck, and welcome to the Forum.

I've been fishing the old and new pier for 40 years and have learned a lot, but wasted a lot of time. I've seen Pier #r work his magic with newbies and his talent and patience amaze me. To think it took me 40 years to learn what he can teach you in an afternoon! I wish I had known him when I started. He's the way to go for sure.
good fishing...

Call Joe Garris, "Dottie Joe Charters" 251-213-6680. He does what you're describing and has done it for over 30 years. If he can't help you, he'll help you find someone who can.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
