    "Channel Bass"

    This is an old redfish video from the shores of NC...This guy brings in a monster.

    I enjoyed it, always did like the old News Reel type shorts.
    That Bull is huge! Maybe with our current conservation size/limit, we'll see those regularly again some day.

    They have actually moved the lighthouse ,but the fishing around that area is still a favorite spot for huge "channel bass" especially in the late fall and winter . We still use the same rigging and bait , just different rods and reels . When the water is really rough 6 to 8 oz. lead will barely hold .

    I grew up fishing there. Yep, same rigs. Illegal to keep any red over slot size and only one slot per day. More of a sport to catch them horse them in and get them back out as fast as possible. Love combat fishing on the point of Cape Hatteras!

    You are right ,Cape Point is a Great place for combat fishing . It took me a while to get used to using 15# -17# or less line on the GSP .Fishing Cape Point at Hatteras ,the wave action would almost break that # test line .
