    Camping near gulf shores

I am considering a camping trip in September or October on the gulf. Does anyone have some suggestions for me?

My biggest consideration is that it is close to the beach for fishing, etc. Not partial to Gulf Shores, just like the idea of fishing near fort morgan and the pier.

    thanks!

Gulf State Park is very close to the beach and pier. Its about a 25 mile drive to Fort Morgan.

It is more than 25 miles from Ft Morgan to the GSPPier.
You might want to think about if either location is more important to you, or just locate in the middle.
Ft Morgan RV is about midways and is located near Mobile Street access.
Don't be fooled by it's proximity to Bon Secour Bay though as the waters there are VERY shallow in that area.
Perhaps they have some pier access? or to Ewing Bayou?

Island Retreat is located on Hwy 180 (Fort Morgan Road) in west Gulf Shores.
But it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood and likely doesn't offer any water access to Little Lagoon (but it doesn't hurt to ask ;-)

BTW, these two (or the Gulf State Park) are the 'easiest' access to both the GSPPier and Ft Morgan using Hwy 180.

    Hope this helps!
