Best Bet.
Take the ferry to Ft. Morgan, walk out on the Point and fish chunks of mullet/shrimp on larger Carolina & drop rigs.Ragnar Benson:

Well the ferry doesn't take that long would it be that much better to fish bull reds there from the shore?

I've never caught a Bull Red surf fishing at DI.
But I've caught dozens of them & Big Uglies fishing at FM.
DI is good for lots of other species though.
Consistently produces catches of Specks, White Trout, Whiting, Ground Mullet & Flounder, once in awhile Pomps & Jacks.
Just my experience & $0.02Ragnar Benson:

I've caught bulls from the jetties in the fall. From the golf course I've caught slots but have never seen a bull. The Ft is THE place for bulls from the beach. Not sure about this time of year though. I've never been out there this early.

Well this is my first year of really fishing since last October and I'm getting married this October so I'm trying to get it in while I can haha with temps in the mid 70s I'm hoping for a goof day I'll try the point at fm and is it ok if I don't have a surf rod I haven't had the money to get one cause I j st bought a Penn battle 2 6500 combo
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
