Thread: bubble rig ?

What size bubble floats are beat? Is medium too small? What/where best pricing? Thanks!!!

Walmart are cheapest they also break easy. J&M on canal is more durable and a little more. Also, anything else about including information flows there easy.

Thanks for the plug Daniel, but unless WM changed their price, we are cheaper at $1.50 per two pack and I think they are around a dollar each when I looked a while back. As for quality, the best is the Tough Bubble and they sell for 16.50 a dozen at J&M. The 2.5" is the size you want.

I saw many that taped the seam on their bubbles. It seemed to help them hold together. The Eagle Claw bubbles are JUNK!!! I will never buy another Eagle Claw product after the bubble experiences and experiences with their frog gigs.

I cast my vote for Tough Bubbles. I always run a bead of Shoe Goo (yes, there is such a thing) around the seam. Helps hold them together and provides cushioning for when the bubble bounces off the head of the guy next to you. Or the deck. The stuff dries quickly.

I've used your Shoe Goo tip and it works, thanks.

But what I always broke my bubbles on was the concrete columns under the pier. I've finally learned to pause a bit before I lift the bubble out of the water so that I don't smash into the pier.

John never bought them from WM. I buy them from J&M. most everything i buy.

Lookout for tomorrow just oiled my reels and retied with new leaders.

This is a very useful (and humorous) tip. Thank you, Haywire. Shoe Goo, Plumbers Goop, Marine Goop or Amazing Goop. I believe they are all the same product. Great for waterproofing lots of things. I've found it can also keep the soles glued on to a pair of really disgusting old lawn mowing, creek wading, pier fishing shoes for a very long time. It does nothing for the smell, though.
