Thread: big bull redfish help??

hey everyone.. im orginally from bayminette alabama but been in NC for a great while and will be coming down to visit family for a couple weeks for christmas. my ?? is what is the possibilty of finding a big red or 2 or 10 this time of year from the surf.....i was thinking of trying to maybe fish the ft morgan surf and maybe even jump across to DI jetties/surf. if not reds anything else might be caught around this time of year??

Fort Morgan on the point is an excellent bet!
Big chunks of fresh Mullet, Whiting, Ground Mullet, Pinfish and crab are winners for me.

Dauphin Island not so much.

are there a good number of fish around this time of year?.... i fish for them up here in NC off of cape hatteras point and huricane sandy messed our season up (which usually ends in november) but for the short period of time we did have to fish we made the best out of it. i ended up with a couple of 45inch fish and 1 52inch fish.....just figured i would take advantage while im down visiting family!

Kind'a sporadic this time of the year, but they are there.
If not surf fishing there, then drifting the Dixie Bar, which begins on the FT. Morgan Pt, would be my next best bet.

I'll be out there on the 13th and possibly 14th.
I'll be targeting sharks & Reds.
