    Balloon fishing

This is NOT an advertisement!!! Check out balloonfisherking.com I just ordered a kit of these. Have not used them but a friend, Joe James, is the striper fishing god of middle TN and a good friend. Swears by these. Neat way to attach a balloon to your line. I know Hogman wears them out in September using balloons.

At $2.99 for ten balloons, I'd say they are awfully proud of the fact that they are 100% latex. For a little more than that you can buy 100 latex gloves that would do just as well. Besides, if a balloon looks to be latex it probably is. The dollar stores just isn't aware that latex commands a higher price.

As far as the plastic clip is concerned, my math tells me that they are $2.00 a piece. Yikes! You can do the same and even more with a paper clip or a few inches of rigging wire.

Dental floss tied to the line in a series of half hitches secured by a clove hitch makes a good stop to keep the balloon from sliding. If you want a loop of line tie two clove hitches about a quarter inch apart with loose floss between. Tie the knots fairly tight so they don't slide unless you put pressure with your fingertips and intentionally slide them.

    This guy uses a uni.

I've never thought of using a uni. Two unis with a loop between might work well. The loop is also used for a release clip.

This woman takes six minutes to show how to tie the standard bobber stop. I'm not responsible for people who blow their brains out waiting for her to get to the point. It's accurate, but you've been warned.

People are shocked to see sharks in the water around here.

If you see natural water taste it. If it's salty it has sharks in it. If it's fresh it has alligators in it. If it's brackish it has both.

Once you go to thinking about it your imagination shined. This is an excellent idea. You've earned a thank and a like from me for this alone.

    Thanks for the thank/like, DRH.

Regarding the standard bobber stop knot, the idea of using two tubes is new to me, too. I usually tie around a large-eye sewing needle with the eye on the start end. When finished making the loops just pass the line through the eye and use the needle to pull the line through just like lashing an eye on a rod.
