FRESH!
In order of preference: mullet, menhaden, spanish sardines, ladyfish, whatever else...

Cut bait would be mullet. The best bait for reds would be crab though. Snip the corners off the shell, rip the hard back off from back to front and run a hook through the middle.

Best bait is FRESH and free.... ly's are plentiful and always worked for me sight fishing the school of slot reds..... looking forward to it again soon

Any crab works but the larger ones are better. I use blue and speckled the most.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
