Good King Reel for 10 Year Old?
I was looking at baitrunners, since that is what I started with back in the 90's, but they dont seem to have good line capacities anymore.
I dont think he is ready for a 706, yet. A 5lb spanish put 8lb test right through his index finger as I was trying to show him how to freeline baits and feed a fishWhat would be a good starter King reel for his first one?

I do like the shimano baitrunners but they are a little pricey these days and a little heavy, and complicated. A penn 750ssm would be a good choice for the money or even a battle 6000 or 7000 would be a good choice too. A good way to start them off is to get them throwing a live bait under a cork. You can also try doing a hand off as soon as we can manage to start hooking some up. You may want to look for something used, you can save some money on a used penn or shimano and it will work just as well. After he gets the hang of casting a live bait you can move him up to throwing a cig.

Bubba I have the perfect reel for him and it can be converted to a manual in the future. Its a mitchell 306 and could use a drag upgrade, but is in perfect working condition.

Gotcha covered Bubba.I have a Penn 560 Live liner(bait runner feature) that is new in box that was given to be as a rep sample several years ago when they first came out.I just spooled it up with 250 yds of 20lb braid and a 100yd 16lb mono top shot. This is the least I can do for all the effort you have put in to this project. Thanks man.
