Back in Texas
Well just got back to Texas after fishing the pier for a week with my 13 yr old son. Fishing was probably the worst in 4-5 yrs for us. My son managed some bluefish the first couple days and ragged me for getting skunked. Tried the octi and even with only a few people out there, people lose their heads if someone catches something. Caught a spanish mack and almost got violated by someone screaming in spanish to his friends. Walked by Harley one morning and saw him throw a piece of squid to the pets in the shallows along with some cuss words. Snagged a few mullet the last day and caught a few spanish. My sons favorite part was our last night there on Sunday when we met Haywire. He showed my 17 yr old daughter the pier mouse and she swore it was real. She felt like an idiot when we told her it was fake. Thanks to Haywire for giving us some good tips that we can use next year. Met some people that dont care to much for some people on this forum but everyone my son and I met were pretty nice. See you next year.

Those people are probably not very well liked by some of the people on this forum, so I guess it's a wash. :-/
Screw it. Let's ride.

Since there are over 7,000 forum members, it isn't surprising that you "Met some people that dont care to much for some people on this forum". Glad you got to meet some of the friendly folks!
Dang, I sure thought Haywire's mouse was real; you sure about that?

Whaddaya mean, "Thought the mouse was real?" Of course he's real. I'll protect y'all and won't tell him what you said---he can get real mean when he's p.o.'d.
Enjoyed meeting you and your family, too, Grayman, and those tricks I showed you worked pretty good yesterday. Tight lines.

I'm a newbie to the forum, but I think everyone that I have contacted on the forum are just GREAT!!! I'm from MN and I can't wait until I get down to GS, in Jan,& Feb. to meet some of these fine fellows. Pier #r, FinChaser, Ironman, Divedeep, Haywire and many, many others seem like awful nice fellows.

I'm always concerned when haywire exposes his "pier mouse" to a 17 year old girl. Most of the time, I've seen him ask if they want to pet him. Sure entertaining for the young ones though. Keep it up Mr. wire, but stay with the little ones!

Not quite sure how to take this post. I hope there is an inside joke I'm missing.
ETA -- the implication of the post, barring said inside joke, to me at least, is that you seem to believe HW is doing something inappropriate (which I highly doubt).
My apologies if I've mis-interpreted your words.Screw it. Let's ride.

Just giving Mr. Wire a hard time as he does to me all the time! He's really a great guy, but I hope he doesn't see this post, I don't want it to go to his head...

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
