Avid Bass Fisherman New to Saltwater
Hi. I am new to this forum and find it to provide some great info. Heading to Gulf Shores for the month of February (retired). As an avid bass fisherman I am very interested in spending some time on the water and learning to fish in saltwater. If there are any local or seasonal fisherman willing to consider a novice fishing partner (shared expenses of course) with a good learning curve I would be very appreciative. I am more than willing to reciprocate if/when you are in the Lake of the Ozarks area. Thanks for considering.

Nick, Welcome to the forum. I am not from GS area but have fished it. I think you will find this group of fisherman to be most knowledgable and most of all very helpful.

I'm no pro saltwater angler. I love it though. I go to Gulf shores every other year or so and I'm coming next August. If you fish the pier everyone is very helpful and and kind (from my experience). One tip that I can give you is to ask questions and listen to the locals. Also do your research on the area. One good thing about this site is that you can look at fishing reports from the past and see what has been biting around the time you plan on going. Like I said I am going in August and I'm already prepping now. I've searched the last several years on here to see if the bite was consistent of the same fish during the time I will be down there. Gulf Shores is probably my favorite spot to fish and this is coming from an avid bass fisherman as well.

I am not from GulfShores but have been going to the pier in October for about ten years. All the locals are very helpful and always caught fish every trip. I am also a bass fisherman from the Midwest. I am coming down in a couple of weeks what can I expect to find biting this late.

Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
