Arkansas invades Alabama Sept 1st
September brings our anual trip to the pier. Get there on Monday the 1st and hope to be there 3-4 weeks. Someone tell Walmart
to order extra green ballons.
Seriously though, I always look forward to fishing the pier. Hope the Kings show up. Look forward to seeing old friends and meeting some new ones.
Will someone measure that stainless lip to the cutting surface of the fish cleaning station. I want to make a board that will make cleaning fish easier. Who was the genius who engineered that?
Is the frozen Cig inventory good this year?
See you guys in a couple weeks. Wade

The rim to the edge of the cutting surface is 1 3/4". There is usually a couple 2x8's at the cleaning tables that fit perfectly to the stainless edge that make the surface flat so it's easier to filet your fish. They seem to work well. I assume the tables were made that way for draining purposes, but your right, they are a pain!

The 2x8's do help but they are kinda nasty. I'm going to bring a filet board with the metal clip on it next time and use it with the 2x8's.

I was at the pier yesterday. Some kind soul has cut a large piece of solid plastic that fits well in the south cleaning station.
I would have generated a fishing report, but, I only caught 1 medium sized blue and didn't think that it was worth mentioning. I heard a rumor that reds and blues were hitting well around 5:00 AM in the shallows.

One of the employees told me that they found a whole bunch of those plastic boards in storage. Wonderful idea, but they aren't thick enough to come level with the stainless.
Hogman, do you want me to make you a custom cleaning board like I have? It will fit the table either horizontally or vertically and fits OVER the stainless rim for easy access with the fillet knife. Special SEC Football price---wait, you can have my old one for free. Seriously, I made myself a new one out of poplar, and you can have the old pine one if you want it (it's clean).

That's the nicest thing anybody has said to me in a long, long time. Brought a tear to my eye, or maybe that was just a jalapeno seed.

I have bought a 706z. It has a black spool on it in good shape. Do I need to change it out or is it okay? No knoledge on 706's
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
