Anywhere Surf Fishing NOT Allowed in Gulf Shores?
Hi folks,
Another tourist coming down. I thought I'd fish from the beach early in the mornings on my vacation in July before the beach crowds come out and before the wife wakes up. just want to be sure that there are no rules against it where we are (1900 block of w beach blvd.). also, we are near little lagoon. would the lagoon be better? mine are probably dumb questions but i've never been to y'alls area before.
Thanks!

Re: Anywhere Surf Fishing NOT Allowed in Gulf Shores?
IMHO those are VERY good questions Andrew, especially for someone not familiar with the area and its ways. :headbang:
Your insight is 'spot on', EARLY mornings before folks get in the water is THE best time to fish.
And the Little Lagoon Pass is a good fishing spot though busier (jetskis) and more crowded (other fishers and swimmers).
It is usually best during the 'quieter' times of the day.
Hope this helps!

Where you are staying you will be fine.
Down at the public beach at the end of HWY 59 is the only place I can think of where surf fishing is restricted in Gulf Shores proper. But heck, its too crowded there anyway.
At the State Park Main Beach Pavilion, you have to be outside the marker poles. And you arent supposed to surf fish within 100 yards of the GSP Pier. Other than that, just use common sense.Carl

I seen fish killed in Melbourne in the early 70's, we were snagging some monster fish out of the ICWW around Merrit Island. loved the fishing opportunity's as a kid there, fresh and salt water both...
