Anyone ever fish Cotton Bayou, etc.??
Just wondering if anyone ever fishes Cotton Bayou, Terry Cove, or Johnson Cove?? I would assume that you could catch trout, reds, etc. - Just never see any reports. I plan on fishing these areas next week and was wondering what to expect.
Thanks for any input!!!!"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day." ~Author Unknown

ATL,
I grew up fishing Cotton Bayou and Ole River. Still fish Cotton Bayou when we come down in the spring and fall. In the deeper parts of the channel near the mouth of CB (closer to the pass), you can catch croaker and white/sand trout on shrimp or cut bait. We usually catch a couple of nice reds and a few flounder around the docks on either side of CB from the boat launch all the way to the pass. Last time, we caught several flounder slow trolling 4" grubs on leadheads.

I caught a 4 foot hammerhead about half way down Cotton Bayou in 86 or 87 on a live shrimp of all things. Put up one heck of a fight on that medium action rod and spinning reel.
Well, after several hours making phone calls, I was able to track down a certain manufacturer’s service center in California. Thankfully, they agreed to send out my needed parts. These were left over...
You would think I would know this!
