On Thursday, 5/24/12, Officers confiscated a recreational gill net and fish after receiving a tip from the public through a 24 hr complaint line.
Officers of the Marine Resources Division conducted surveillance of a recreational length gill net in use on the Ft Morgan Peninsula.
The surveillance resulted in the arrest of an individual for using a gill net without a license and possession of game fish (spotted seatrout) in conjunction with a gill net.
In addition to the citations being issued, the fish and net were confiscated.

    There was no boat.
It was an illegal 300' gillnet fished from shore.
