Alabama Rig in Major Stores Nationwide!
I was in Dick's Sporting Goods in Tampa today, and they had an entire display dedicated to the Alabama Rig. These things are expensive if you buy the rig and the jigs. I think the price will stop alot of people from buying them...hopefullly!

Re: Alabama Rig in Major Stores Nationwide!
Recent article in Midwest Outdoors says that since a BASS tournament was won with a 100+ pound 4-day total on an Al. R., they are selling like hotcakes. They also reminded us that in some states there is a limit on the number of hooks/lures on a line, some 3, some 2 or even 1. Don't know about Alabama or Florida freshwater, but there are probably few regs like that in salt water.

Speaking of regulations, wouldn't any multi hook rig regulation affect the "sabiki" rigs? I have seen crappie fishermen use sabiki type rigs to a good deal of success and it looks like they would also be affected.

They are only $27.99 each on line!

Here’s the quote from their how to section:
“We recommend that you use a 7' medium heavy rod and good high speed bait casting reel spooled with 80 to 100 pound braided line.” :guns:
Think I will order me a dozen before they are banned by Homeland Security! :3some:

Re: Alabama Rig in Major Stores Nationwide!
The bass pro up here in Prattville has them, when I saw it I just laughed...that thing just looks like a mess in the making. Unless you got a boat for trolling I don't see the point. The price is way too high for that thing considering all it is is smaller umbrella rig

Fin, if they buy the accessory pack that givesd them soft plastics and jig heads, that costs an extra $12.99. That rig can get pricey quick.
I guess the real question is, Does J&M sell them, yet?

Re: Alabama Rig in Major Stores Nationwide!
I am going to install one of these onto a hat, with 5 lures, and wear it to the pier one day during the summer.
Might even add some fake blood for shock effect, and go fishing like nothing is wrong.
