Re: Alabama Rig
no problem, i'm bigger than him anyway. i'ma get one of dem rigs from him and do a little r & d on the pier during hardtail season. may not be as fun now that the state is trying to run off all the non-americans. damn they might be doing us a favor, maybe the boys in blue can check for proper documentation from the sabiki brigade, that'll run'em all back to florida..

Oh good grief, if I see tourists using this rig next summer, I am going to hold you responsible!! :spank:

I particularly like the shiny hardware and bright orange beads. If the spanish did not die laughing they would nip the whole contraption off. That would make each cast worth about $12 in lures, or about what those fancy ling jigs cost. :boohoo:
However, knowing how much cobia love eels, one could connect four or five gotchas nose to tail and create a silver eel. It might cast, but please don't stand behind the person using it! :poke1: On the other hand, it would take half an hour to remove six trebles from the maw of the ling.

Oh boy... here we go. I hope they paid more attention to how much we "supported" the use of this roll tide rig.
Guess I will have to develop an auburn war eagle rig to counter it.

Re: Alabama Rig
I don't know what that is but it doesn't resemble the Alabama Rig I've seen. The Alabama Rig starts with a large jig head and has five spinnerbait type wire leads fanning out behind it. Each of these have a swivel attached to hook up to the lure(s). You foks probably know this but I thought you were referring to the pictured rig as the Alabama Rig.

That fine unit in the pictures is the handiwork of TLII, and as far as I know, TL and Tackett are the only two who use it.

We discussed the Alabama Rig you're referring to in another thread.

The one we're discussing in this thread is actually the LA rig:
(Lower Alabama).
