After Hours Bait shop???
Does anyone know where (or if) there is anywhere to buy live shrimp till about 9 or 10 o'clock at night? I never get down before that and hate just showing up in "hopes" of catching some decent bait to fish with. I seem to always have to fish on Saturday night, which makes for little sleep on Sunday for the drive home which equals a dead tired day at work starting at 315am on Monday... Im sure I am barking up the wrong tree, but any info would help. Thanks!!!

Best thing to do is find something near you and put the shrimp in a bucket with aeration. They are generally hardy enough to stay alive when you finally get to go fishing.

The pier house was staying open til about 10pm. You may want to call ahead and see if they have live shrimp before wasting a trip down. It seems they don't make keeping live shrimp or bull minnows a high priority.

Get yourself s cast net and catch your own, I've been doing it for years now. I can usually keep them alive in a 40qt cooler for about 24hrs. I know what you mean by the bait shop closing so early and I absolutely HATE buying bait, especially at $4.00/ dozen....good luck!

Cast net would be the safest bet, but dont have much time as it is. Hate buying bait too, but I usually have to bite the bullet to maximize time. I have places on the island I can get to leave me some out, but that is a long way from GSSP. Dont know the local bait shops over here well enough for them to do that for me! Im trying to get where I can come straight here and fish on Fri night and DI on Sat night where I can sleep a little more afterwards. I have a camper on DI if that helps explain why I dont stay closer to the pier! Live in Sylacauga, work in Gadsden, love pier fishing= LOTS of driving!!!!!

Just noticed you're from Sylacauga. If so, there's a high chance I know who you are. Lived there in the land of Jim Neighbors for 18 years.

Lived here for 6 years now, but have hunted here for 22 years. I live in Stewartville on the Houston Rd. Probably coming down after work tomorrow, may wait to come over to GSSP on Saturday afternoon so I can get plenty of bait before I get there.

Some of you know I clean, lube and repair rods and reels. My quandary is that Shimano parts have become very hard to find. I’ve exhausted all my resources, ereplacement parts, mystic parts, eBay,...
You would think I would know this!
