Hello fellow fisher! I'm a Louisiana native and my wife and I will be traveling to the Gulf Shores area on this weekend for some R&R and hopes of catching some flounder. We were wondering if anyone could help us info on best time, place, and tackle to use.

Re: Advice on Catching Flounder
Try using bull minners on a Carolina rig at the pier and just walk em slowly from pylon to pylon on the bottom.
You can go to the lagoon pass and wade out to the drop off from the sandbar north/lagoon side of the bridge. Also the dock at ft. morgan is a popular place for flounder.
Life is like toilet paper; you’re either on a roll or taking crap from some a$$hole!

Re: Advice on Catching Flounder
A coworker stayed the week of July 4th at the Bella Luna beside Perdido Pass, and caught a lot of flounder around the boat slips. The only problem is that is gated. He was fishing with bull minows Carolina rigged. He said that he would drop them beside the pylons and pick up very slow, and if he felt a nibble, he would count to three then pick up on it to set hook.
