3 rivers gator...not talking about trout!

Be careful when kayak fishing the 3 rivers area off Ft Morgan! A couple of weeks ago we were fishing the 3 rivers area off Ft Morgan and a large alligator,(10' at least ) robbed a stringer of trout and a flounder off my friends kayak almost flipping him into the water with the prehistoric beast.

I have notified the wildlife office ..they said they would hunt the gator...hopefully they follow through.

sorry no pics...was padding away as fast as I could

Can you clarify a bit? I have 30.238406, -88.011302 Lat / Lon referenced for Fort Morgan, and this is all salt water. When you say the "3 rivers" are you talking as far up as Brights Creek?

    Thanks!

we were right here,(Bon Secour Wildlife refuge) lat 30°14'45.07"N lng 87°54'43.07"W . There was a rain the night before , so i the water was fresh enough for the gator to venture out of one of the fresh water creeks back there.
I dont think that this was his first time playing fish bandit!

OK, Great! Thanks for the head's up . . . I wouldn't have been thinking 'gators that far out on the peninsula.

Note to self: don't ignore the potential for 'gators taking my catch too.

Was planning on wade fishing that area this October. May have to rethink that idea. What baits were you catching the fish on? If I do fish it I will be carrying a pistol. US Tennessee folks love us some Gator meat. :-)

I have fished that area with a fly and done well. I have never seen Gators but you can tell they are there. I keep the catch in my boat not in the water. I got towed around by a bull shark one time. Only once will that happen
