    Here's the schedule of parades so you can avoid the traffic tie-ups.

    Mardi Gras 2016 Plans for Alabama's Beaches - WPMI - LOCAL 15
    GULF SHORES/ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WPMI) Mardi Gras 2016 gets underway in just weeks along the Gulf Coast. And the cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach want in on the fun!Here's a list of events happening at the beaches for Mardi Gras 2016:

    Mystical Order of Mirams Parade
    Date: Friday, Feb. 5
    Time: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    Location: Begins at Wintzell’s and ends at Hwy 161, Orange Beach

    Description: The Mystical Order of Mirams are celebrating their 10th Mardi Gras in Orange Beach. The parade follows Perdido Beach Blvd. from west to east, beginning at the traffic light by Wintzell’s Oyster House and ending at the Rite Aid on Hwy. 161. The route is approximately two miles.

    Mystics of Pleasure Mardi Gras Parade
    Date: Saturday, Feb. 6
    Time: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Location: Begins at Wintzell’s and ends at Hwy 161, Orange Beach

    Description: The Mystics of Pleasure Krewe was the first Mardi Gras organization in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach! This year will be the organization’s 16th anniversary. The parade follows Perdido Beach Blvd. from west to east, beginning at the traffic light by Wintzell’s Oyster House and ending at Perdido Beach Resort. Spectators are asked to stand on the south side of the Perdido Beach Blvd. east of Hwy. 161 due to incoming west bound traffic. The route is approximately three miles.

    Mardi Gras Kid and Pet Parade
    Date: Monday, Feb. 8
    Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    Location: The Wharf in Orange Beach

    Description: The Kid and Pet Parade will take place at Palms Plaza near the Ferris wheel at The Wharf. Kids’ activities will include a bouncy house, face painting, Ferris wheel rides and a light show.

    Mardi Gras Parade on Main Street
    Date: Monday, Feb. 8
    Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    Location: That Wharf in Orange Beach

    Description: Following the Kid and Pet event will be a spectacular parade of the floats from the Gulf Coast’s biggest and best krewes. The parade will end with a special Spectra light show.

    LuLu’s 17th Anniversary & Mardi Gras Boat Parade
    Date: Tuesday, Feb. 9
    Time: 10:00 a.m. – until
    Location: LuLu’s at Homeport Marina, Gulf Shores

    Description: Start off your Fat Tuesday at LuLu’s with signature beverages and a live band starting at 11 a.m. Then watch the Mardi Gras boat parade as it rolls in along the Intracoastal Waterway, and stay for the continuation of great music beginning at 5 p.m. Of course, no anniversary would be complete without a complimentary cake to end the celebration.

    Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade
    Date: Tuesday, Feb. 9
    Time: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
    Location: Begins on Hwy. 59 at Clubhouse Dr. and ends at Main Beach

    Description: Since 1978, Gulf Shores has been celebrating Mardi Gras with the city’s annual parade. This year over 70 units will be travelling in the parade.

    Orange Beach Mardi Gras Parade
    Date: Tuesday, Feb. 9
    Time: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Location: Begins at Wintzell’s and ends at Hwy 161, Orange Beach

    Description: Get ready to shout, “Throw me a something, mister!” The Orange Beach parade follows Perdido Beach Blvd. from west to east, beginning at the traffic light by Wintzell’s Oyster House and ending at the Rite Aid on Hwy. 161. The route is approximately two miles.
