13th Annual Kids Fishing Jubilee Sat Apr 27 @ Lake Shelby
Kids Fishing Jubilee set for Saturday at Gulf State Park | al.com
The 13th Annual Kids Fishing Jubilee will be held April 27 on the banks of Lake Shelby at Gulf State Park, free for children ages 15 and younger.
Fishing will be available from 8 a.m. to noon. Those attending are encouraged to bring fishing poles, though some poles will be provided on site. Some bait will also be available.
Sponsors of the event are Gulf State Park, Alabama Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries Division, the City of Gulf Shores and Winn Dixie. For more information, call Kelly Reetz or CJ Jarmon at 251-948-7275.
Kelly Reetz can’t guarantee everybody will catch a fish Saturday, April 27, but you can't catch one if you don’t get a line in the water. Reetz is heading up the 13th Annual Kids Fishing Jubilee that will be at the Lake Shelby picnic area on beach road.
As I was leaving the parking lot, I noticed a cork line in the lake and that means "kids fishing day".
Trust me folks, take the kids to this event early on the day it takes place.
The park nets off an area under the zip-line,fills it up with hungry catfish and turns the kids loose on them.
For the first hour it's not fishing, it's catching.
