Another Avatar Problem
I see there are a few more threads about this problem, is there a fix to it or can someone help me out? I can upload a profile picture but no avatar. When I click to edit my avatar, the option "do not use an avatar" is already selected and can not be unselected, and there is no other option above or below it.

I suspect that Fin or Pier#r will create an avatar for you from your profile picture when they find your post. I had the same experience.
