Speaking of Chili Recipes: Black Bean Chili
VENISON BLACK BEAN CHILI
This is a chili recipe that I adapted from a Mexene® brand chili powder recipe.
Black beans and venison give it a great flavor. Good ole’ fashion burger works too.
1 lb. ground venison (or hamburger)
2 -15 oz. cans of black beans
1 - cup frozen corn
1 - 10 oz. can of diced tomatoes with chili’s
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1-2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 tablespoon flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup water (or red wine)
Brown ground venison (burger), garlic & onions together. Drain off any grease.
De-glaze with water (or red wine)
Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
Cover and simmer for at least 30-45 minutes, the longer the better. Simmer all day in a slow-cooker on low heat if desired.
