Blackened Spice Mix
Tried a new DIY "blackened" seasoning blend on some Speckled Trout fillets tonight. Next time I may back off a little on the cayenne pepper and maybe a half teaspoon of salt. It was flavorful for sure, but a little too hot and salty.
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- 3⁄4 teaspoon white pepper
- 3⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
I used a 1/4 stick of real butter and a tablespoon of canola oil. I must have deleted the pic of the asparagus and fettuccini alfredo.
