    Japanese-style Fried Spanish Macs

Cant remember if I posted this one before, but with the Spanish mac run kicking in, its timely:
    Saba Tatsutaage
    Prep Time: 15 minutes
    Cook Time: 5 minutes

    Yield: 2 servings

    Ingredients

    • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
    • 3 Tbsp Cooking Sake
    • 1-2 tsp ginger root, grated
    • 2 Saba (Spanish mackerel) fillets
    • Katakuriko (potato starch) or corn starch or flour/cornstarch mix
    • oil

    Instructions

    • Mix soy sauce, Sake, and grated ginger in a bowl. ( you can use Terriyake sauce, just water it down a little)
    • Cut fillets into 3-4 pieces each and marinade in the sauce for 10 minutes. (I marinate for a few hours)
    • Remove the moisture with a paper towel and coat lightly in Katakuriko.
    • Deep fry the fish at 350F (180C) for 3-5 minutes.

I think you have, but it's been long enough that it's fresh again.

Now all you need to add is some noodles or rice and green beans stir fried in soy sauce.
