Make a fake crab meat using Sheepshead, black drum or redfish meat. You could try it with other types of fish too.
Boil the fish meat with crab boil until it wants to come apart.(not very long or it will turn to mush). Some people put the meat in a cheese cloth bag.
Remove meat from heat and strain, and then put on ice to chill.
Once cold, remove from ice and flake with a fork.
Use this in gumbo and other things and no one can tell the difference. :yippee:
