I agree Bubba, my bad. I was not referring to who ever Drew Taylor is, just in general with younger people these days. I had a young man pull out a knife and was about to cut my line the other day because I did not get out of the way quick enough for a man to fight a spanish mackerel, it's things of that nature that I speak of, did I mention that it was a spanish mackerel?

Wow, just wow.
A couple of comments here.
1. If you are an adult in real life please handle yourself like an adult here. Yes there are children that love fishing the GSPP and come in here, just as you would not expect a child to handle him or herself as an adult in a real life situation you shouldn't always expect it in here. Kids are kids and make kid mistakes. Do kids ever go over the line? Yes. But they do not have the real life experience to really know where the line is sometimes. It is up to us to point it out at times and use a mistake as a tool for learning.
2. Having said that, most of the "kids" in here (seems like everyone under 25 is a kid to me now days) are really trying to be a part of something that we all love. With all of the other distractions of life for today's generation I am glad that some of them have chosen to enjoy the outdoors. I wish the ones I am raising did, but unfortunately they don't. I think that as adults we should be encouraging the youth to share an interest in the outdoors.
3. As far as school goes, I wish mine was coming here instead of some of the things he gets into at school. I know I would sleep better at night.

King killer, I removed your totally inappropriate and derogatory remark from your post. Unfounded insinuations are serious insults and are hurtful. If I were you, I would be apologizing to Divedeep, big time!
We try to monitor posts to keep the these kind of things from escalating. Now and then we miss something, sorry!Last edited by FinChaser; 05-23-2013 at 06:28 AM. Reason: spelling

To those who reminded us that this is a fishing forum and didn't like this topic,
You are right, this is a fishing forum and that is exactly why we have this OFF TOPIC BOARD! The only reason this board exits is to keep threads like this from derailing/taking over, fishing discussions. In fact this thread is a spin-off from a fishing report.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, if OFF TOPIC topics bug you, there's an APP for that, it is called a mouse, just don't click OFF TOPIC! Problem solved.
Hope this helps,
Fin

I've always believed that a sign of maturity is to not respond in kind when you feel that you are being attacked but to continue to respond in how you wish to be treated. AKA the Golden Rule.

This is not directed at ANYONE, but I got advice that I try to remember when it comes to arguments: (1) If you get into a p!ssing contest, you're both liable to get wet. (2) Don't rassle with a pig because you both get covered with sh!t---and the pig enjoys it.

Been at Ft. Morgan for a week, fishing. Missed the Forum. This has been the most delightful thread I have read since becoming a member. Technology is allowing young people to learn differently than memorizing multiplacation tables. And everyone learns things differently. Our current education system was developed for colonization and global expansion, and now that model has begun to fail. In this modern world of technology, those that can learn, will. And they will succeed. They can do it even while posting in school.

I think this thread has run it's course.
One final note!
This is for the person who chose to make an unsubstantiated, slanderous accusation about another valued forum member who has now stepped away from posting on the forum.
At the time I chose not to ban you because of your age, and since you told me you had apologized to that person, I let it slide; now I regret that decision.
I have since talked face to face with that individual and I now know you did not apologize, so you are now on very thin ice and your next time you post something inappropriate, you are gone for good.
I made this note public so that you can't twist my words, you know who you are!
