    Y'all be careful

Deer season, the gun part of it, is only a few days away and I want to urge all the tree-sitters to use their safety harnesses, and use them the way they are supposed to be used.

Me, I been using the kind that came with the stands---all dangling straps and hard to figure out---don't really fit. This year I got a better, aftermarket harness and it's a world of difference---been using it while I put in camo around the stands, etc. Y'all getcha on of them, really comfortable and easy, and they'll make you look good, too, with the right earring and makeup.

This is the first year that I'm putting up safety lines for getting into and down from my ladder stands. They're easy to install and won't make 30 seconds difference going up and down---after the amount of time it is taking me to recover from shoulder surgery, I'll sure as hell, I mean Heck, put this little bit of time and effort into avoiding more of the same or worse.

Good fishing and hunting to everybody.

    Good luck Mr. Haywire.
I may actually go opening day for the first time in 20 years. Buddy gave me permission to hunt a small parcel off Fowl River that hasn't been hunted in years, just have to split the proceeds with him. We'll see how it goes.

I agree 100% Mr. Wire. The HSS harness and lifelines are the cat's meow, especially for some of the rickety arse lock on stands that my hosts have put me in over the years. 30 seconds of aggravation is nothing compared to a lifetime of paralysis.

I probably wouldn't have shot that one because of the uneven rack.

    YEAH, RIGHT!

    Yep, its a cull deer.

I wouldn't have shot it because I would have been shaking too hard to even get the gun up to my shoulder....
