what headlamp?
it seems i go thru a headlamp every other year. typical use for night fishing and out to the deer blind. some packages say water proof and still the guts rust. the last one i spent 50 bucks and totally disintegrated i believe i paid nearly 50 for it. i have had the throw aways at less than 10bucks and as mentioned up to 50. looking for something with high lumens beam adjustable water proof and will last. any recomendations would be great. i do take pretty good care if it does get wet by opening battery compartment and drying to the best of ability. looks like there may be some good lithium LED rechargeables. but i just dont know

Had the same problem. Bought a Bushnell rechargeable LED headlamp(300 lumens I believe, maybe 600, spot light is super bright) from Walmart earlier this year. Think it was about $35 and worth ever penny. Has a USB charge cable that is permanently attached(didn't initially like this cause I thought it would corrode but the rubber holder keeps it well protected) so you can charge it anywhere with a USB plug in.

i have a couple of petzl headlamps that i have had zero problems with. in fact (although it is without all the buzzers and whistles of others) now that i think about it, my petzl tikka has served me well for over ten years.

I use the Streamlight argo and have for several years, I use it at work and at home. It uses 3AAA batteries, has 3 different settings and unlike the rechargeables you can pop in new batteries and be good to go for several hours again.

My last 2 have been Black Diamond brand. First one lasted a year before it fell apart, looked like an obvious defect to me, second doing ok. I can't make a recommendation. I do like the USB rechargable lights on my bicycle, maybe on my next headlamp.
