Finally decided I'm hanging up the helmet and selling my bike. Its no longer enjoyable to ride anymore. With all the people on cell phones and illegal drives we have here. Had this bike for about for awhile. A buddy and I got it out of a house fire and rebuilt it. Time for a new toy.

Yep I gave it up years ago, swallowed my heart a few too many times from people just acting like they were going to pull out in front of me....just not worth it then and couldn't imagine it now with what you stated....seen to many young in the hospitals missing limbs from bike wrecks
I told myself I'd quit when I can no longer throw my right leg over the saddle. Be damned if I'll ever pick it up and step through. I figure when that time comes, my body'll be telling me it's time to move on.:abnormal:
that is a nice little bike! i have been wanting to sell mine but not hang up my helmet... mine is just too big and fancy. I want a beater bike that i can ride and forget to wash haha

I was looking at those vrods at one point then went with a Ducati monster instead. Thats one bike I wish I still had. Sad to say sold it to a guy in Dallas and he broke it that following week.Quote:

That's a Heritage, isn't it ? Almost bought one myself but too much chrome when it came down to it.
FC's bike is either a Super Glide Custom or a Wide Glide. I was gonna bring my bike with me to the beach, but I'd rather fish than ride. This pic is several years ago before I started wearing the correct gear. I wear the correct helmet and gloves all the time now.

So many Harleys that look a lot alike. I've never sat down and made myself learn the characteristics of each one.
+1 on gear. I'm not quite as hardcore if I'm piddling around, going to the store or something. But other than that, I'm full leathered up. Gets a little warm this time of the year if I have to stop for a redlight, but I've seen the results of skin hitting pavement at 60+ mph. Ain't pretty. Just bought a new lightweight leather jacket for the ride to Sturgis that has a removable quilted vest for cool mornings but with the vents open, it's dang comfortable at 45 and up.

Naw, that's not too much chrome for Fin's ride---in fact it's just right---matches the chrome in his beard. (Yeah, I'm jealous 'cause I can't grow one like that.)

The bags threw me. Those are just like the ones they are putting on the Heritage ST Classic. Should have caught the tires and fender right off. Not to mention the lights. Perfect case of HUA.

I just put the Kuryakyn Dually Offset Highway Pegs on yesterday. So sweet. Do you like the Kuryakyn soft grips? Thinking about that too.
Looking really hard at new wheels. Really hate the solids at highway speed with a side wind but they are considerably more than I expected. First pic are the wheels. 2nd the Heritage
The ISO grips are great with or without gloves.
That's what I've heard. After 4 or 5 hours, the vibration coming through the stock grips gets a little annoying. Stop to fill up and my hand is still vibrating.

thats my baby! waaaay too much chrome! haha and i am with you Fin, during summer i dont wear the proper riding gear! and i should know better cause i have had to scrape people up off the road and such...
That is a good looking V Rod. And she is a bit of a chrome 'ho.
The V Rods are good looking bikes and they are kinda fast. Is yours an early one, or one of the newer with the fat rear tire? I can't really tell from the pic.
