We be twins????!!!?
Went down to J&M this morning and bought me a Tilley Hat. Now y'all won't be able to tell me from Pier#r, except maybe he'll be the one catching all the fish, and, maybe he's younger than me, and he might be a little bit better looking than me---except for a couple of minor details like that, you might not can tell us apart.
Just to start breaking it in, I wore it all the way to hunting camp and it did a fine job---stayed right there on top of my head all the way. After this cold snap, I might take it down to the pond and teach it about bass fishing before I show it what the real thing is about---if the sheeps ever show up, that is. I think the sheepshead showed up at the pier last year when it was so cold because all the cussing and vituperation aimed at them warmed the water slightly. Maybe they were hoping the pier would spontaneously combust and give them some relief. If they haven't started showing up in a couple of weeks, I'm gonna write a real strong letter to somebody about the situation---maybe the Small Animal Bureau or the Marine Control Division.

Read the Tilly story about the elephant trainer that had his hat eaten then crapped out time after time by an elephant that loved his hat. Good testimony for their product.

By doggies, next time I go elephant hunting, I'll know what to use for bait.
Wait a minute---I don't have to have it on my head when the elephant eats it, do I? Can't I just hang it on a bush outside the shooting house?

And Jonah thought he had it bad in that whale's belly. Imagine what Haywire would smell like coming out of an elephant.

The more I think about it, the more advantages I can see in an elephant-treated hat---just think of all the space I could have at the rail. I could grow geraniums in the hatband, or something more interesting if I were that kind of person.

Speaking of twins, proud granddaddy to be in May. A boy and a girl. Have to buy one of those little pink fishing poles I guess!
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
