LONG TERM /Sunday Through Wednesday/...An uncertain period follows
for the long term period, with the forecast hinging on potentialtropical development (Invest 99L) which may or may not affect thenorthern Gulf coast region. All interests in the area should continueto closely monitor this situation and not focus on specific modelsolutions as these will continue to vary greatly until/if a systemforms. Please see the National Hurricane Center website athttp://www.nhc.noaa.gov and our website at NWS for the latest official information regarding this system.
In other words...
"We haven't a clue what this thing is going to do."
This is one of those storms that keeps you on your toes.
Might look disorganized right but could blow up into a tropical storm within 12 hours.
Or fizzle to nothing.
Praying it fizzles to nothing!!!
Let's keep praying then, because it appears to be working!

As stated above, invest 99-L’s chances of developing over the next several days have decreased and it remains very disorganized this evening due to a persistent band of moderate to high wind shear that continues to impact it.
Can I get an amen??
AMEN!
We're not 'out of the woods' yet, but the probabilities are looking better today...

MARINE...High pressure over the marine area will weaken early next
week, as a tropical wave moves into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. There is some potential for the wave to develop into an area of lowpressure through Wednesday, and mariners should closely monitor theprogress of this system. Otherwise, a light to moderate east tosoutheast flow will continue. Wind speeds will increase by the middleof next week, depending on the development of the wave. Winds and seas will be higher near any showers or thunderstorms.

Monday night Through Wednesday night/...Tropical
Depression Nine is forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm byMonday evening over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, and continue aslow moving track to the west-northwest. The tropical storm is thenforecast to turn to a northerly direction Tuesday afternoon, and thenpossibly to a northeasterly direction Wednesday afternoon. ByWednesday night the system is forecast to enter into the northeasternGulf of Mexico, but this track will likley be adjusted with issuanceof each advisory. Immediate impacts from the system across theforecast area will be an increase in rip currents along the areabeaches as longer period swells generated from the system reach the northern gulf coast as early as Monday night.
Almost time to panic.
This track could easily shift west, all it would take would be a delay in the course change:

With the projected scenario we (along the Alabama coast) should be on the 'dry' side of the storm and only receive larger than normal swells Wed-Thur.
How big remains to be seen, but is problematic to the track and strength.
Right now the forecast is only for 4 to 5 feet...
National Weather Service
There is ZERO to panic about from this.
Ah, come on, not even a little bit of panic??? :)
Here is the mandatory OMGs and ONOZs for those who watch the Weather Channel or CNN...
