    Two remedies for fisherman's thumbs.

Fisherman's thumbs are callused fingers and can hurt when pressure is applied. normally its caused by Holding too many fish by the mouth.

Remedy 1: O'Keeffe's working hands. I've used it and it works great. If that's not enough, use O'Keeffe's working feet.

Remedy 2: saw this on the internet: Fisherman's Thumb - Bass Thumb, Finger and Thumb Protection

    Any other recommendations?

Way back in the day, I was on a Boy Scout camping trip down in Florida, and saw a Yankee (I could tell by the way he talked, even then) catch a grinnel at the boat dock. When he reached down to lip it, I timidly advised him not to do it but he bruskly told me to mind my own business---that he knew what he was doing. He was still bleeding and cussing when I left. I was still laughing.

What do you do about "pier elbow"---those big calluses you get from leaning on the pier rail?

For pier elbow, get a set of those elastic elbow supports (the ones used for sports injuries) a little powder to make them feel better on hot days helps,

If asked, You tell them, that as a professional casting expert, they're too maintain correct elbow angle.

That all the pros are using them now, even Olympic games a proved,

I'm a Yankee (sort of, Georgia born but raised in Michigan)- used to fish for dogfish (Yankee speak for grinnel) at night as a kid. Lol. Anyone who lips a dogfish deserves what they get.

For pier elbow I let who ever hand lines a big fish up keep it if they want it. Don't lip anything in salt water they all got teeth.

Over here we call those Choupique. pronounced shoe-pick. Those things have dull razors for teeth and vise grips for a jaw. That's a funny story! Man, those Yankees. I know what you mean by pier elbows, I would use O'Keeffe's working feet. It says use once a day for a few days. That wind that y'all been having came over here, Its bad.

The Grinnels sound a lot like watching tourists try to lip Blue fish... Hey man, ya want a bandaid?
