Wind now has a significant northerly component. I think we've see the worst of the waves - in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.Quote:
Had a few panels popped out. Nothing major yet but still a possibility.
Edit: I just plotted the last position. Michael is bending slowly to the NE. Just a bit more and Panama City will be on the left side.
I dunno:
the water level continues to jump up and down, and the barometer is still falling...

I just saw a reporter from WALA Fox 10 under the shed at the pierhouse.
The window is open but the pier is closed for now.
I called and Melanie said they had a few loose boards and panels, but nothing major.
As a precaution they are keeping the pier closed until the storm comes ashore and the waves drop a bit.
But overall, I think that's "good" news.

That wave is almost 30 feet high!
9' storm surge up in Appalachicola Bay.
I was streaming Channel 13 out of PC until the winds hit 100 and they went off the air.
Cant imagine anything less than catastrophic damage in Port St. Joe, Appalachicola and the area just east of PC.
Brett Adair and his partner are storm chasers with Livestormstreaming.com They got pinned down in Mexico Beach as the storm surge moved in. Video is pretty intense. They are safe as reported by his wife, taking up shelter in a home. https://www.facebook.com/foxsananton...M5MTY1MDY2MTM/
That footage was insane after the 32 minute mark.
In just a few minutes the storm surge came across the road and was over the hood floating truck in 6 minutes!
Incredible to see it.
That video is insane, those guys are lucky to be alive.
I don't know what they got paid but it wasn't enough. Very very lucky to get out of that mess.....
In addition to a cash bonus the Station should buy them a new vehicle.
