How heavy is it? Make up a few in 1/16 oz.....they will for sure catch some crappie. :)

It'll work but probably not for long. I tied a few like that and they did well but the toothy critters make short work of the mylar.
Try some 5 minute epoxy on the red threads.
That's what I use on the Boone bait quills ;-)
