Something to look forward to

In the coming New Year, 2013, both the Groundhog Day and the State of the Union address will occur on the same day
This is an ironic turn of events. One involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to an insignificant creature of little intelligence for some possible guidance.....

Never thought about it that way , but now that you point it out ,you are right on the money !!

I never understood why an incumbent president didn't give his State of the Union address on the evening of his inauguration. The crowd is already gathered, may as well knock out two birds with one stone and there is no real excuse fro going ahead in getting down to business. Save the inaugural hoopla for first time incoming presidents.

While we are on the topic of presidential inaugurations. George H W "Read my lips" Bush was the only president to be sworn in by literally swearing over a stack of bibles.
