Sam's back
I do believe that Sam The Pelican has returned to claim his/her proprietorship of the new restaurant. If it wasn't him, it sure did look like him, with the band on his left leg and the attitude that he owned the octi. Some misguided person of questionable intellect tried to feed him a skipjack out of a cooler, but he showed little interest in it and vastly preferred the live LYs. Good to see him back. Saw a frigate bird again today.
Speaking of LYs and other bait fish---folks, let's try and kick the dead and unwanted ones overboard whether they are ours or not. There are people out there who think nothing of stinking up our pier with their trash and their presence, so let's get rid of the parts we can. Somebody dumped out a box of half rotten bait fish right by the trash can at the north of the octi and there's no excuse for that kind of BS. I kicked the fish over the side, but had to wash my shoe afterward. Nasty lowlifes.

Is the restaurant open now?

I saw him do it. Meant to say something but got distracted by a hookup. Was one of the sabiki brothers that were fishing the east side of the octi - was a bucket of dead LYs

i am not a local and only get to fish a couple of weeks a year. i don't really know any of the regs although i have met a few. the above behavior(dumped bait) disgusts me and i want to know would i be out-of-line for calling somebody out on it?

I don't think so, just be careful of the insane people out there. I've gotten some dirty looks from people to whom I've pointed out that cutting stations are more appropriate than the benches on the oct.
