To each his own. I personally don't see the point in owning a gun that I'd rather have in a velvet lined case than use it as it was designed. Just as I can't wrap my mind around display knifes that I'd be afraid to sharpen much less than actually cut something with it. I'm not knocking it if that's your thing, I just don't get it.

Sorry James for derailing your post, sure wish I could help other then calling Ruger for assistance..... they might be willing to fix, under a warranty type thing.

No problem at all. Glad I could help since the fishing reports have been slow. Going to try and call them Tuesday to see what's up. Guns are pretty new to me so I dont mind hearing what people think about other guns

I don't get into the internal working of them, to screw it up anymore, sure never considered a gun smith, so giving advice more then I have already....sorry
still learning about a lot of things in life myself, will be till I die ....knowledge and learning is free
also like learning from other peoples mistakes, when you learn from your own, sometimes that isn't free
