RTIC Coolers Tariff Surcharge
RTIC Coolers Tariff Surcharge
I saw were they were having a sale on some backpacks , 70% off so I thought I would get one for my grandson . I go to check out and see their adding a "Tariff Surcharge "
I figured that the Tariffs would just cause a bump in the price of goods as a matter of course , But this is just rubbing it in your face and it was on all their products .
If you have to raise the price to cover costs then do it , My days of buying RTIC products are done .If you are going to fight, fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's ark and brother, it's starting to rain!

Not sure why they would do that except to indicate price rise would be temporary. I suspect that many prices won't go back down and pocket the extra profits going forward.

We don't have totalitarian rule in this great country, people have always disagreed with the political powers in charge. No news there. I did enjoy reading the thread from stripersonlne that Pier#r linked. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. They should take that show on the road.

I like the fact that RTIC isn't going up on their prices. I think that's what they're trying to communicate to customers. Their appeal is to price-conscious consumers and I appreciate the fact that they haven't just incorporated the tariff-cost into the price of the product like most other suppliers have done (which would make it a permanent upcharge).
I like the RTIC cooler that I got when I moved down here. I'm really rough on equipment and it has held up quite well for me.

I'm a big fan of their equipment and its served me well , It's there discussion to tack on the Tariff Surcharge rather then just absorb it like the rest of the rotomolded cooler companies are doing , They can easily do that on products that they have on perpetual "Sale " it's not a lot of money , The Tariff it based on the cost of the item and only 25% of that is the Tariff . So there is a huge profit margin they could just take one for the team since this is not likely to be permanent and if it is just bump the price up a bit and keep your Perpetual "Sale " going , Don't think I'm not for making a profit I'm a good capitalist and very pro business ,
