referrals
Hi guys,
Please let me know if this isnt allowed on here! I have been coming down to the area for over 20 yrs, spent many nights fishing the new and old pier. I have since moved down perm in Oct. I look forward to learning many new things. What I do ask. I am a realtor with RE/MAX of orange beach. Clients constantly ask about charters. Now I have only ever been on 1 (would love to go more and probably will now) . With that being said there are charters coming out the wazoo and I have no idea where to begin with any recommending of them. I would like to work with a handful of charters, learn who is who,who fishes for what etc. I am hoping to build new relationships with some people who run charters so I can pass them business along with them maybe referring a bite or 2 to me. Clients buying down here love to see that you know the who is who with things, IE. pool installation places, charters, where to eat . So I am looking for some advice as to who to start with on the charters so I know that if I refer 1 or 2 charters, my clients will be pleased with me! Any input on your personal favorites or if you personally run a charter I would love to have a chat. Thanks again as I will be using this for my personal booking of a charter at some point, so until then I will see you all at the pier once this water warms up!

Captain Ron Stone, (251) 269-2154. He runs mainly nighttime flounder gigging charters, so something a little different than everybody else. Know him personally. He is a great guy and very experienced.

Capt. Joe Garris out of Gulf Shores Marina at Ft. Morgan (I know, it sounds strange) runs mostly trolling trips and does real well, especially for folks who don't want to spend all day in a boat. He's one of the old timers and knows his business. Capt. Ricky McDuffie out of Orange Beach offers some upscale fishing---all day, overnight, billfishing and tuna trips, but you need to book him well in advance, he's real good and real popular and has also been doing this a long time. Capt. Bobby Walker is the last active captain of the Walker family that helped start the charter fishing fleet in Orange Beach, and he can find fish when fish can't find fish.

Haywire, joe garris is who I caught my first billfish with. A great captain and a even better guy to be around.

I saw one yesterday but it was closed mouth. Would not eat anything thrown. I personally know of 3 that have been caught in the last two weeks. No kings yet.
