Just got the word from Jeff and the date is posted on GS Pier Rats on FB picnic is going to be May 4th. Hope to see everyone there.
I just scheduled a trip yesterday for May 3rd thru the 12th. I guess I will see y'all there.
So glad to hear Jeff will be running things again this year. At least I know it will be a great event! Let us know what you need help with this year Jeff.
I'm in, but I don't do facebook so I have to be informed.
Now I understand tato is partnering with Jeff to spearhead our picnic. This will be great with these two as a team!
Let an out of towner know if I can bring cokes or plates or eating tools
We will try to keep this post open so everyone can see what people are bringing and maybe have a meeting on the pier couple days before to make sure we don't forget anything. Special thanks to everyone that came out and brought all the great food and drinks last year think good time was had by all. Hope to see everyone this year and remind your friends to come out and join the GSP Pier Family.
So looking forward to it. Be down that morning through the 11th. Heard that Hogman won't be down until the 8th. Have to make him a doggy bag!
I'll bring plates, bowls, utensils and napkins for 500 people.
Might bring a big crockpot full of my chile too.
I'll bring Barbecue sauce again. Was there anything that ran out last year?
I will contribute more if needed but I don't want to just increase the leftovers. Last year I brought buns and they were wasted. Whoever is coordinating, let me know.
I wasn't there when clean up was done last year I'll get with Jeff and she if he is keeping track of what everybody is bringing.
I can bring drinks or solo cups. Let me know please
Don't forget 2 weeks from this saturday may 4th the gspp picnic. Hope to see everyone there lunch at noon.
I understand the pier has a new manager.
If y'all haven't already, might be a good idea to clue him in...
It's a party on the Pier next Saturday May 4th. Bring what ever you like to eat and share with others and join with everyone of the Pier Family for a day of Fun, Food and Fishing.
#'r is right. New manager again! If you want to contact him, his name is Jim..
Also, Ashley is 2nd in command.
Still hoping to be down from Nashville Saturday morning. Leslie was in hospital again and got out Thursday. Still so very week but she wants to go. Going to take 2 days to make the trip so bringing something hot or cold could be problematic. I see post for picnic on Pierrats also. Can someone make an updated what we got and what we need list. Seems there is always twice what is listed and enough to feed more than what we got eating. Just want to help. If we’re okay I could just bring donuts a couple of mornings
Yes, a list of what people have declared would be great.
I know there has been a few picnic post on Facebook/GS Pier Rats.
Also, is this Rain or Shine?
The Saturday forecast keeps changing.
What about plates , fork and spoons ?
If everyone will leave this topic open for the week I'll keep track of what everyone is bringing and make a list.
Need table cloths and napkins and maybe some Rolls of paper towels. Also need name tags and sharpies. If someone wants to add that to their list let me know. I'm bringing 4 packs of Hotdogs, Buns and diced onions Mustard and Ketchup.
Ok Chile got you on my list Thanks
Does anyone know if HOOTERS delivers? Some chicken wings and a couple of Hooters girls would be interesting!
Are there going to be any Boston Butts this year? Do we need volunteers to bring same?
I don't have a grill to do one, but I can manage an oven cooked one - not bad.
BTW, what time is the picnic. I'm going to be out in a boat in the morning, but will make it around noon.
yes, John G from J&M TACKLE is supplying the Boston Butts.
RAIN OR SHINE!!!! if it rains we will be under the pavilion.
I posted on GS Pier Rats on FB the list of what I had so far as to what everyone was bringing. If someone that knows how can move it to the Forum that's fine with me don't know how. Sorry if I left anybody out just post below if I did and I will add to it.
Attachment 7350 picnic list
Jeff,
Have you or Tato contacted the new Pier Manager Jim recently? He's only been there about 2 weeks and not sure he is aware of the picnic. Just a reminder ...
I called yesterday and he is off all week but his assistant said she knows about the picnic and would have extra tables brought out Saturday morning.
I've been putting off making it positive, but I don't believe I am going to be able to attend or contribute to the picnic this year. Sorry I'm going to miss all the great out-of-town folks who will be there. And the great food. I'm still trying to find a way to get there.
I'm gonna start a Go Fund Me for you George.
Try to raise enough funds to hire an entire troupe of voluptuous belly dancers to spirit you away to the pier.
Weather forecast simply sucks.
Robert I will bring 50 solo cups and 3 cases of drinks if that's ok
Sounds good to me.
Is there any local fruit ready yet Strawberries, peaches, watermelon or cantaloupe Thinking of a fruit salad
