Pier Lights on the Octi.
Wondering if anybody has been on the Octi lately can give me info on the lights. Have they been repaired yet?

Just got an email back from Greg Lein in Montgomery and he said he would check on the status of the lights. Said no decision has been made on the sharks yet but he did mention the cleaning tables again. In my opinion taking out the cleaning tables at this time is not going to fix the problem. The sharks didn't leave when the pier was closed for the repairs after the hurricane.

E-mailed back and forth with Louis Williams with GSP and he said they have a plan for getting the lights on the pier repaired. Hoping it gets done by middle of March anyway.

As we all know, maintainance on the pier is poor. Lights still don't work since Nate came through and now we have the added problem since the freeze, of a lack of water at the cleaning tables and "T" bathrooms. Can't understand why all the money goes to building projects at the park, but none to the pier. All the comments and calls to those in power don't seem to make a difference either!

I sure hope everyone expressed their concerns about the maintenance as you stated when they filled out the survey. It seems to me that as much work needs to be done on the pier we should be seeing somebody out working on it full time and keeping up with all the problems."Lein, Greg" <Greg.Lein@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Grant, Rob" <Rob.Grant@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Guinn, Michael" <Michael.Guinn@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Coker, Landon" <Landon.Coker@dcnr.alabama.gov>; Gulf StatePark <Gulf.StatePark@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Conway, Mathew" <Mathew.Conway@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Williams, Brent" <Brent.Williams@dcnr.alabama.gov>; "Jones, Kevin" <Kevin.Jones@dcnr.alabama.gov>

I believe Pier#r mentioned the 42012 Buoy info being out. I checked back on the recorded data and it looks like the last recorded data was Oct.27 2017. Yea it's time it was repaired also.

Thanks for following up with this problem. I will email some of your contacts also - I hate the extra drive to Navarre, but it is nice not to have the sharks, and to have water available. The lights are a great plus for GS, but when they aren't working ????

They have been working on the water 'hard' every day...
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
