Thread: Panama City Now

Hello guys we took 11 members from our church to Panama City to help house owners out with clean up.Samaritans Purse is there in force they are a Organization started be Billy Graham son Franklin Graham.So since the hurricane they organize teams who cut trees,stack branches,tarp roofs,and do a numerous amount of job to help people get there life back to normal.We stayed at a local church free lodging of course and free breakfast and lunch and dinner.We drove our 15 passenger van to worksite.You don’t need a team or be with any group to help.Just look on line Samaritans Purse and fill out a application and come and join a bunch of wonderful people for a life changing event.Helping the Jesus name is so rewarding.
When you come first thing they give you a couple orange shirts that say Samaritans Purse an a hat.Now your team wears them to the job site for your protection of course but the people from Panama City see you wearing them and they treat you like you are there heroes.Those shirts mean the world to PC people.
We cut a lot of trees moved branches and at the end of the day we got the home owners a yard back in order a family’s drive way cleared etc.
After our job was done our team wrote a little note to the home owner and signed our name in a special addiction Billy Graham Bible and after we all signed the book we knock on the home owners door and gave it to the home owner.Then we held hands in a circle with the home owners and said a pray and then hugged them before we said good bye.
I will tell you all it’s a life changing day in your life .
When we went home we were the 1500 Volunteers to leave and they need so many more.People can do kitchen stuff and be and older guy it doesn’t matter just call and it’s all free room and board.
