Good for bad fishing
In a way, I'm glad that the fishing is slow right now. I have no conflicts in my mission to attend as many Mardi Gras parades as possible so I can fight with the little kids to acquire my yearly supply of Moon Pies. (If you keep those things in a cool place, they'll last for years.) If I'm really lucky, I can catch enough beads to keep my darling wife in jewelry. The worst problem I have is that when I pull up my shirt to flash the floats, many of the riders throw things at me other than beads---one or two have leaned over the side of the float and upchucked on the kids scrambling for treats---a result of overindulgence in adult refreshment, no doubt. Anyhow, y'all wish me luck, or come join me.

We’re downtown right now waiting on the Saturday parade. Surprisingly not many people here yet.

Is Mobile more family-friendly than New Orleans this time of year? I've been told that the folks of Louisiana can make Marine drill seargants blush and Baptist ministers faint dead away.

Yes Mobile Mardi Gras is a completely family friendly affair. It’s almost all families.
From what I hear most New Orleans parades are now more tame as well.Carl

We hit the Foley Parade at 11 this morning and the Orange beach at 6 and I counted 40 moon pies. I think that's what I'll bring to the pier picnic.
I've got a new, never used, large 36" pier fishing net for sale with 30' heavy duty rope. Looking to get just $38 and no extra tax! Msg me if you want pics.
