ONE year ago tomorrow
Sally destroyed the newly remodeled almost opened GSFP. A sad day for us all.

Some of the last looks at the finished pier, still intact...

Pier#r - Do you still have the picture of us standing on the observation deck? I guess that was taken just a little before Hurricane Sally? It must have been at least a month before because there were several projects, at the time, that still needed completion.

It made me explore other local options, so that now I have other go-to places where I may find fish biting when it's not happening at the pier. None of those options, of course, includes king mackerel fishing opportunities. I find great joy in catching slot redfish, big spanish mackerel, speckled trout and sheepshead. So even when the pier is fully restored, I'll still have those options. While I will, on a rare occasion, travel to Pensacola or Navarre, I really like fishing around here because I can usually catch something at one of my backup "secret spots".

Man, the pier really looked good. The views were great.
I’ll be sliding into town March 10-14. Can you have it warm and sunny for me then? And also, how about having the fish biting??? :D
