    Need Local Help and Knowledge

So I posted a few weeks ago that I finally asked my girlfriend to marry me. Now comes the fun part of pricing out venues, catering, music etc...... After a few trips to local places (NW Arkansas) we just can't find what we want. So last night I throw out the idea of us just getting married in Gulf Shores since that's where we plan to honeymoon anyway. Well, to my surprise she actually went for it and thinks its a good idea! So this is where I need some local help. Instead of our original 100+ guest list we are only inviting close family. So maybe 20 people. We want to be married on the beach and we obviously can't rent the beach we need a quiet yet pretty spot tthats not to far from parking due to her grandparents not being able to walk far. Also we would need chairs and something to stand under when getting married. So my question is do any of you know a good spot that wouldn't be crowded for a wedding on the beach and place we could rent chairs and wedding stuff local? Our goal is the end of September or very early October. Any help would be awesome

You need to contact the city of GS or OB to get that info. You just can't bring a group of people to the beach and have a wedding on city property. Trust me,there have been several weddings ruined because people didn't look into local ordence. O'le horney boy Haywire can give you some direction being he is the one that staretd the beach photography business in this area during the stone and tablet days. Just don't hire him to photo your wedding because your bride will.........

Here's a link to some beach wedding planners in the area. I do know you have to have a permit for a beach wedding. Hire Haywire, he will behave, just remind him to take his meds!

Thanks for the info guys. I wouldn't have thought to get a permit or anything like that.

You're going to have a hard time finding a place that isn't crowded and still has access for limited mobility guests. Probably best place would be State Park on the east side of Perdido Pass. I'll get contact info from a couple of the wedding folks I know who will do a great job for you. I no longer do any kind of wedding photography, but I can get you the info on some reliable photographers who stand behind their work and won't disappear after taking your money. Right now it's bedtime for me 'cause I gotta get up early and chase deer.

Yes, my daughter got hitched on the beach a couple years ago. Don't forget an Alabama wedding license, (that's your responsibility), from the courthouse in Bay Minnette!
