I'll get back to you with a list of places to get some good boudin.
A few exits west of the 49 & 10 intersection in Lafayette there's a place called Dons. Their boudin is pretty good, their cracklins are even better. If you feel like a short detour, head to CHOPS in Broussard. They have it going on there. Ask for Kristen and tell her Sam sent you.

I was neighbors with Kristen (owner of CHOPS) and use to always tell her she needed to make a perfume that smelt like cracklins. That girl always smelt good! Haha!
The place in Loxely that fin mentioned is pretty good also, I work with the owners nephew. The prices are on the high side but the quality and taste make up for it as goes anything.
Chops Specialty Meats
CHOPS plate lunches are on point too!
Almost forgot about this place...Lived in Baton Rouge for a few months back in 07...This place is dang good and can't get much closer to I-10 ;)

Only problem with Parrain's is the horrible parking. The food is good, though.
You got that right! had to park at the adjacent bank most of the time I went. Think I recall it being a bank anyway
What I really miss are the CC houses all over the place and getting a Turtle mocha-ssippi every morning...no wonder I gained 10 lbs while I was there.
All these places are making me hungery! I might gain 10lbs on the way there.
